Bootstrapped! Creating a Small Business on a Budget edition by Robin Aldrich Religion Spirituality eBooks

I love the way Bootstrapped! gave me the opportunity to see the creation, development, and behind-the-scenes realities of a small business. The author describes her experience of finding her passion through mind mapping which led her to the idea of creating a natural pet food market. She provides information about things a person should do or avoid in order to get a new business off to a good start, and she isn't afraid to share her failures as well as her successes. Although this book focuses on a sales-oriented business, the principles Aldrich shares are equally applicable to any business . From this book, I learned a lot about how to choose a good employee and how to treat customers. I also learned how a small idea that grows out of one's personal experience can touch the lives of many people in an unexpectedly profound way.

Bootstrapped! Creating a Small Business on a Budget edition by Robin Aldrich Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

I highly recommend that anyone thinking of starting a business (especially a brick and mortar one) read this book. The author speaks from experience both of failure (learning lessons) and success. I learned things I never would have thought of regarding a business and it gave me lots to think about before proceeding. The author knows her stuff.
What I love best about "Bootstrapped" is that the principles apply to many situations. Whether selling your business or yourself, you need to control people's perceptions of you. I had not really considered that before. Thanks, Mrs. Aldrich. Great book!
I loved every chapter in this book! I felt like I had a trusted friend who was giving me all the benefit of her hindsight in starting and running a successful small business. I learned so much from the mistakes made and how I could avoid them based on her own personal journey. The branding information is amazing! Robin included so many ideas I never would have considered. This book is helpful for anyone who is wanting to start a small business - online, brick and mortar, blog, etc. No matter what type of business you are in, you will find great insight in this book. Do yourself a favor and read it now! I look forward to more books from Robin!
Such a breathe of fresh air! As someone toying with the possibility of starting a small business, Robin's book is clear and to the point without feeling like I am being talked down to. She is knowledgeable about being an entrepreneur and is relatable by sharing her story as well as her information she has learned! I recommend this for anyone just starting out into the entrepreneurial world!
Robin has done a remarkable job in writing this book. Right from the start it grabs the reader's attention and keeps him turning the pages.

A terrific compromise was achieved between being too general to be useful and too detailed to be readable. Robin gives enough information for the book to actually be useful without overloading the reader with details.

The writing style is conversational and makes for easy reading. Robin writes from personal experience and that makes all the difference. She gives common sense advice based on the lessons she learned in establishing her own business.

I would highly recommend this book for anyone who is thinking about starting a business, but it's good reading whether or not the reader plans to start a business.

Many people think about owning their own business, but few ever take it upon themselves to follow their desire. Most are afraid, for various reasons, and money seems to be at the top of the list. This book has clearly outlined how to go about fulfilling that desire and living the dream in a way that is financially manageable and also provides the know-how in moving forward in business one step at a time. From finding your passion to marketing and building relationships, this book has it all.
“Bootstrapped” is chock-full of stories and actionable advice from an experienced entrepreneur on how to launch a business! This book has valuable advice not just for brick and mortar business owner, but for any new start-up! The author shares her insights to building a successful business with a limited budget. She bravely examines what went wrong in her previous failed businesses. She details the challenges of balancing business with family and how she managed to stay afloat even during the recent global economic downturn (2007-09). “Bootstrapped Creating a Small Business on a Budget” is an honest business guide, but more importantly, “it’s a bin there done that” life lessons guide! Ms. Aldrich has woven an inspirational personal journey within this how-to business book. I can’t wait to hear more from this first-time author!
